Let Me Be Straight With You About Starting an Online Business

I want to talk to you like a person.

Not like a marketer. Not like someone who is trying to impress you with my income screenshots or convince you that what I have built is something magical. Just a straight conversation about what starting an online business actually looks like, why it is harder than most people make it sound, and what I genuinely think you should do about it.

Fair warning: some of this is going to be uncomfortable. I am going to tell you things that most people in this space avoid saying because they are afraid it will discourage you. I think the opposite is true. I think knowing the real shape of the problem is the only thing that gives you a real chance of solving it.

The loneliness nobody talks about

The first thing I want you to know is that building an online business is a surprisingly lonely thing to do.

Your friends and family mostly do not understand it. Some of them are supportive in a vague way. Some of them are quietly skeptical. A few of them will say encouraging things to your face and then say something deflating when you are not in the room. Almost none of them will genuinely track your progress or understand what you are building.

Your online community is real, but it is not the same as people who know you. The Facebook group members who cheer your first commission have never been to your house. The mentor whose videos you watch every Sunday does not know your situation.

You are going to be doing most of this alone, in the margins of your existing life, in the early mornings or late evenings when everyone else has stopped. That requires a particular kind of self-trust that nobody really prepares you for.

I am telling you this not to discourage you, but because I think you deserve to know what you are signing up for. And because the people who make it through are the ones who knew it would be lonely and showed up anyway.

The month nothing works and what it actually means

There is going to be a month — usually around month two or three — where you post every day and nothing seems to move. Your email list grows by two people. Your posts get modest engagement from the same small circle. Your affiliate dashboard shows a big fat zero.

This month feels like failure. It is not failure. It is the most deceptive phase of building something new, because the system is actually working — slowly, beneath the surface, accumulating data and trust and reach — but the results are not yet visible on the surface.

I have spoken with dozens of people who quit during this phase and later found out they were two or three weeks from their first commission. Not months. Weeks.

The most important decision you will make in your entire online business journey is whether to keep posting on a Tuesday when nothing seems to be working. That decision happens before you feel motivated to make it. It happens when you are tired and the numbers are small and your family is asleep and you are sitting alone with your laptop wondering if any of this is going anywhere.

It is going somewhere. But you have to make the decision before you can see where.

What I think actually goes wrong for most people

After watching a lot of people try this and fail, and a smaller number try this and succeed, I am fairly confident about what separates them.

It is not personality. It is not talent. It is not how good their content is. It is not their niche.

It is whether they built a system before they started generating traffic.

The people who fail almost always built in this order: they started posting, they joined groups, they tried to get followers, and then somewhere down the line they tried to figure out how to turn all of that activity into revenue. By then, they are already exhausted. The motivation is depleted. And they are trying to retrofit a business structure onto a presence they built without one.

The people who succeed built in this order: landing page, email automation, DM workflows, posting strategy — and then traffic. Traffic went into a system that could handle it. Leads got followed up with automatically. Commissions arrived from sequences that ran while they were doing something else.

The order is the whole thing.

A word about tools

I know that the technology feels overwhelming. I felt that way too.

But here is what actually helped me: two tools, used together, that do almost everything.

Claude AI writes all the copy. You feed it one prompt and it gives you your landing page, your seven emails, your thirty social posts, and your DM scripts. The whole thing takes about two minutes. You do not need to be a writer. You do not need to know anything about marketing. You paste in the prompt, fill in your affiliate link, and Claude does the rest.

LaunchOS runs everything. It hosts your landing page, sends your automated emails, schedules and posts your social content, manages your DM automation, and tracks your leads and sales. One platform. One login. No piecing together five different subscriptions.

If someone had handed me these two tools at the beginning and said, 'This is all you need,' I would have saved an enormous amount of money and confusion.

What the ninety days actually look like

I want to give you a realistic picture, because I think unrealistic expectations are one of the most common reasons people quit when they should not.

Week one: you build the system. Nothing is earning. That is correct. You are planting.

Weeks two and three: your first leads start coming in. Probably five to twenty. They are going through your email sequence automatically. You are posting daily and replying to comments. This is the phase where the system is doing exactly what it is supposed to do and it still feels like not much.

Month two: leads begin to compound. The content you posted in week one is still collecting leads. The email sequences are warming people up. Your DM conversations are getting more substantive. This is when momentum becomes palpable.

Month three: income starts to become predictable. Your first commissions are real. You have enough data to know what is working and what needs to be fixed. You scale what is working.

That is ninety days. Not two weeks. Not thirty days. Ninety days of showing up, following the system, and trusting a process that works slowly and then quickly.

What I want to hand you

The document I want to hand you is the 8-Day Affiliate Business Playbook.

It is the build sequence that puts the system together in eight days — funnel, emails, social posts, DM automation, bridge page — before you drive a single visitor to it. It uses Claude prompts to write all your copy. It plugs into LaunchOS to run all your automation. It includes a ninety-day roadmap with actual benchmark numbers so you know you are on track. It covers ten traffic methods most affiliate marketers have never tried. And it includes the daily quality reps system — the non-negotiable floor of five daily actions that, done consistently, compound into a real business.

It is also, at this point, something I am giving away free. Not because it is not worth money — I think it is worth a lot. But because I believe the best way to build something lasting is to give people a genuine win first and let the relationship grow from there.

The playbook is that win. It is eight days of clear, specific, ordered action that produces a live affiliate business at the end.

I would rather you have it than not have it.

The loneliness is real. The month-two plateau is real. The system that gets you through both of them is in the Playbook. Click here to download it free, no catch, just the guide. Start with Day 0.

Read it once all the way through. Then start Day 0 today.

The loneliness is real. The month-two plateau is real. The system that gets you through both of them is in the Playbook.

I am rooting for you.
